On a day in which the Tiger's pulled off walk off runs, not just once, but twice, has the city of Detroit buzzing for the first time all year.
A little after midnight, in his first game back, Gary Sheffield was able to provide the game winning hit, after a two hour rain delay.Just about 17 hours later, Shefflied was able to hit another clutch situation, in this case a homerun, pushing the game in too extra innings.
The Tiger's two wins today, pushes them to 38-40, the closest they have been to a positive record since Opening Day. This great sucess has been a continued pattern, as they have been streaking late with a 14-8 record in the month of June.
The Tiger's haven't lost a series since June 9th, and look to continue this trend when the Rockies come to town for the wrap up of Interleague Play.
The Tiger's great sucess, has now been not only based on starting pitching. The consistent pitching has allowed the bats to be out in Comerica, has balance seems to become a nightly show in the park. As they all get into a grove, the team's once playoff optimism is now perhaps coming a reality has the dog days wear on.
